TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Owners must make sure dogs are up to date on vaccinations and receive regular worm and flea treatment. It is also recommended that dogs receive the kennel cough vaccination. All dogs must also wear a properly fitting collar with identification and have a valid dog license.

  2. Southpaw hold Public Liability Insurance and we recommend clients also insure their pet. We cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury or death of a pet in our care unless arising from negligence on our part. The client is responsible for any veterinary bills incurred while their pet is in our care. Where possible client or emergency contact will be notified prior to treatment. Owners are liable for any injury caused by their pet to any other animals.

  3. Dogs must be well socialized and any behavioural problems must be brought to our attention during initial consultation. All animals are subject to a trial period and Southpaw reserve the right to terminate the contract at any time if the dog is deemed unsuitable for group walks. The safety of our staff and other dogs is of paramount importance. Muzzles, harnesses and other training aids may be used if they are deemed to be required. Dogs which fall under the category of 'Ban dogs' listed in the Control of Dogs Act 1998 cannot be walked without a muzzle or off leash in a public place.
Male dogs who wish to avail of group walks must be nuetered.

  4. Walking Policies: At least 24hrs notice is required for any cancellation of walks otherwise full payment is required.

Our walking rotas are made each Friday for the following week. We request those who do not have regular days each week let us know by Friday which days they will require walking for the upcoming week.

Our walks are at least one hour long and take place between 10am and 4pm. Walks are organized according to suitability of dogs (how they interact with each other) and location for pickups. For this reason and also to allow for cancellations and late additions we cannot guarantee specific times.

We recommend that a full set of keys for each house be supplied to us as inability to gain access to a property to walk or visit a pet will incur the full cost of the service booked.

  5. Payment is required at the end of each week for walking and pet sitting services. A 5% late charge applies for each working day that the payment remains outstanding. We accept cash, cheques and direct payments to our business account listing your pets name as the reference.
